  • Commissioned authors
These authors are identified by KLB and detailed to develop manuscripts. They are selected on the strength of vast experience and competence in subject areas. The manuscripts are then subjected to adjustments before being printed.
  • Non-commissioned authors 
An author is considered non-commissioned if he/she submits their manuscript to us without being contracted to do so. Manuscripts under this category, which form the bulk of the works we receive, are subjected to a three-month assessment, after which a decision is made to either adopt or reject them.

Royalty Payment

KLB authors draw royalty payment at the rate of 20% of net sales accruing from the sale of their titles. The payments are effected twice per year.

On each occasion, a half-yearly account of sales is provided. Our rates are among the highest in the country. We ensure the authors are comfortably remunerated for their efforts and also encourage many more to join the literary world.
